CMI:in uusiin eurooppalaisiin kiinnityksiin lukeutuva Foundation Hope asettuu tyylillisesti vaikeampaan ja kokeellisempaan päähän. Tunes for the Wounded -albumin aloittava Harm and the binder välttää tyylikkäästi lokeroinnin yhdistelemällä kuoroääniä, puhesampleja ja kovaa melua.

Valitettavasti koko loppulevy jää kaipaamaan aloitusraidan dynaamista luonnetta. Vaimeat puhesamplet, utuiset syntikkasävelet ja ympäristöäänet luovat surrealistisia ja väsyneitä tunnelmia, jotka muistuttavat erittäin, erittäin paljon BSE:n uudempaa tuotantoa. Valitettavasti Foundation Hopea vaivaa sama tauti kuin BSE:täkin nykyään: liian utuiset, väsyneet tunnelmat tekevät levystä varsin tylsää ja raskasta kuunneltavaa. Joukosta löytyy paljon kauniita hetkiä, kuten droneileva Laments and Accusations tai Another Tune for the Wounded, ne hukkuvat massaan. Niitä kannattaakin kuunnella irrallisina raitoina.

Foundation Hope, one of CMI´s new European signings, falls in the more difficult and experimental end of the spectrum. Tunes for the Wounded opens with the track Harm and the Binder, which stylishly avoids classification with a combination of choral- and speech samples and hard noise.

Unfortunately the rest of the record lacks this dynamic character. Distantly echoing speech samples, foggy melodies and sounds create surreal and tired atmospheres very, very reminiscent of later BSE. Unfortunately Foundation Hope is plagued by the same syndrome as BSE today: the moods are too heavy, too tired and distant, making the disc a bit dull and depressive. There are some very beautiful moments such as the droning Laments and Accusations or Another Tune for the Wounded, but they too easily drown into the mass. They are best listened to as individual tracks.
